SBOA are Chennai IT Kings!

WINNER: SBOA - Aditthya and Gokul

RUNNER UP: Bala Vidyamandir - Vishal and Rishi Rajashekaran

'Phenomenal' exclaimed quizmaster Pickbrain during the course of the Chennai final and that seemed to summarise the entire quiz in one apt word. The finalists at Chennai left the packed auditorium and the guests stunned with their amazing knowledge of IT.

Earlier in the day a tough prelim described by the quizmaster as 'one of toughest so far' resulted in the following six schools making it to the final:

DAV Boys Mogappair - Rishal & Pranav
PSBB KK Nagar - Vidyacharan & Hariharan
SBOA - Aditthya & Gokul
Bala Vidyamandir - Vishal & Rishi Rajashekaran
Chettinad Vidyashram - Nikhil Ravikumar & Aruna Pallav K
Hindu Sr.Sec School -Thirukumaran & Vishwanaath

The final was a very paced affair with teams reflecting a sense of urgency to get ahead. The first round witnessed a solid start by the SBOA boys but in the round that followed Bala Vidyamandir and Hindu Sr.Sec caught up with equally good answers.

Quotes @ Chennai
Mr.Ravi Vishwanathan, Head of TCS Chennai and President Emerging Markets
"This quiz is a learning for me too and I always mark my calendar to ensure I don't miss this".

Dr.Santosh Babu, IT Secretary, Govt of Tamil Nadu
"Struggle to achieve more."

Champions, SBOA - Aditthya and Gokul

Runner Up, Bala Vidyamandir - Vishal and Rishi Rajashekaran
In the buzzer phase of the quiz, the duo from Bala Vidyamandir stunned everyone with their knowledge and preparation on TCS where they cracked three of the four posers. The lateral thinking round saw the Chettinad and Hindu Sr.Sec team attempting to push ahead but ended up with some negatives that kept a calm and calculative SBOA still in the lead.

In the final round of the quiz SBOA drew first blood while Bala Vidyamandir came back strongly in the second question to set up a final showdown but despite the brilliance, the consistency of SBOA and early gains were too many to negate as they made it to the national final for the first time.
