Indian High School retain UAE Crown
WINNER: Indian High School Dubai - Manas George and Arpit Raorane
RUNNER UP: Delhi Private School Sharjah - Madhur Singhal and Madhav Subramanyam

Over 400 kids and the third edition of the IT Quiz in the UAE was buzzing with action early on a Saturday morning as children came to battle for yet another edition of the popular quiz in this region. Teams from across the UAE were part of the quiz. A quick prelim, a tricky one at that, was dealt with shouts of 'no clues please' from keen quizzers who seemed well prepared for the day. The prelim also witnessed several first time teams who were still in class 8 and 9 which the quizmaster remarked was wonderful for the future of the quiz in this region.

The finalists at UAE were:

Gems Modern Academy Dubai - Anant Mahajan and Armaan Ireland
Delhi Private School Sharjah - Madhur Singhal and Madhav Subramanyam
Our Own English School Al-Warqaa - Varun Vasudevan and Allan Almeida
Indian High School Dubai - Manas George and Arpit Raorane
Abu Dhabi Indian School - Sethu Pradeep and Sreeradh Radhakrishnan
Gulf Indian High School Dubai - Dan Mathew and Ashwin Ramdas

The final was riveting from the word go. Most of the teams in the finals were from class 11 and 12 except the team from Gulf Indian who are still in class 10. The final lineup also featured the defending champs from Indian High.

The first few rounds saw most teams getting off the block, with Indian High dominating early on to set up a good lead over the others but as the quiz moved along it was a close battle with Abu Dhabi Indian and DPS chasing down Indian High. The tension was palpable in the final round as teams kept closing in on Indian High which was playing safe but on the last question with three teams having a chance to win the quiz they went for the buzzer and defended their title to heave a sigh of relief.
