The first game of the 2019 edition of TCS IT Wiz was underway at Hyderabad. Notably this is the 21st consecutive season of the quiz. A huge downpour in the city did not dampen the spirit of the students who turned out in large numbers. A city that is known for the quality of the teams that play here, they sure lived up to their reputation. The prelim led to six schools making it to the final.

FINALISTS :
Keshav Smarak Jr.College: Nandik Sharma and Sathvik Reddy
Hyderabad Public School: Yashovardhan Shetty and Udbhav Saxena
Oakridge Newton: Sanjay and Shreyas K
Teja Vidyalaya, Kodad : Pavan Kumar and Ashish
Vikas: Omkar Kabde and Dinesh M
Little Flower : Mustafa Ahmed and Md.Obaid

The quiz hosted by prolific quizmaster, Pickbrain was swift and tense. In the early rounds, most teams went ahead but with caution. As the quiz kept moving one question at a time, the tension mounted as HPS established a slender lead over the other teams which kept bouncing back. The teams from Oakridge and KS Jr. College did well, in bursts, but could not find one or two more answers that would have helped them.

The Little Flower duo and Teja Vidyalaya were at it till the final question along with HPS, as they were all tied on the same score with one question to go. Taking the risk on the final question HPS clinched the title and made it to the nationals. Teja Vidyalaya which had travelled all the way from Kodad finished runner while the youngest team on stage from Little Flower lost out to them on a tie.

The chief guest Mr. Eric Alexander of US Consulate at Hyderabad appreciated the quiz and the high standards while Mr. Rajanna, Sr.Vice President & Head TCS, AP & Telangana specifically appreciated the Kodad team that came from a small town to emerge as runner up.
